The Countdown To….. Well quite a few things really!!!

BARLA-YouthJuniorFinalsSo just four more sleeps and Jack and his rugby team mates will be heading to the Yorkshire cup finals and the scariest thing about it is it doesn’t seem two minutes since we counting the sleeps last year and now here we are again. Just where has that year gone, it seems to have passed by in a very busy blur. What with running ,cycling, walking, work, my camera and rugby I haven’t really had chance to sit back and reflect on any of it. Maybe after this weekend I’ll get my chance. But for now its all about Sunday and at the moment my house is like changing room, sub suits, kits, kitbags and matchday stuff seem to be hanging in every room. Come Saturday it will all be packed up ready for the big day and by then there will be only one sleep left -gulp!!!

In the meantime there is plenty at work to keep me busy – the christmas countdown is well and truly on, glitter everywhere – its fab!!  ‘Big Bad Ben’ is still stomping round rehearsals and his song is still stomping round my head. Every production we do, Christmas, Easter or otherwise, always has one of those songs that messes with your mind – always on re -play in your brain – this years is no different, but when you’re laid awake at 2 in the morning  ‘I’m Big Bad Ben or so they say, when  people see you they run away’  is not much of a lullaby. Still at least good old reliable ‘Away in a Manger’ is there as a back up even if you need tissues at the ready……

So much happening

The countdown is on

Bring it on (slowly)

Back on Boris……..

Well I did it, Boris and I are back on track, I am a cyclist again – wahoo!! Pretty relieved really as to say I was nervous was an understatement. I have to admit to losing a little confidence. Still todays 13 miler with hubby through mud and puddles by the canal was just what the doctor ordered (well the doctor told me to keep popping pills and rest – but you know what I mean!) So I just need to conquer the rush hour traffic on Monday morning and all will be fine. Shame my shoulder isn’t as happy with my comeback as I am but no pain no gain.

An early blog today as we’re off to a Race night at the rugby club tonight, always good for a laugh, and then it’s up and off tomorrow as Jack’s team are in the Semi- Finals of the Yorkshire Cup . Cross everything so they win – getting to the Finals for the second year in a row will be awesome. C’mon Crigg.

13 miles cycled

Sore but happy

Bring it on

Watch out…. Proud Rugby Mum About!!

So the last official game of Jack’s ‘summer rugby’ season today. Yes I know the summer finished months ago but it’s never gone to plan since it started. When they first came up with this ridiculous Summer Rugby idea I imagined lounging by the touch-line basking in glorious sunshine – how wrong can you be. Today we shivered, the wind howled, the sleet tried to fall and my fingers froze to my camera – It was real ‘Brass Monkey’ weather and how the kids kept hold of the ball I’ll never know.On the plus side however, we won and won easily. Today was, on paper, the toughest game so far. Granted the league title is in the bag but we haven’t lost a single game. Today’s opponents had the chance to end our unbeaten run – they failed and it wasn’t for lack of trying.

Yes, today I would have stood in six-foot of snow to watch the quality of rugby on display -which considering they’re only U12’s (nearly 13’s) is pretty impressive. So what now – well there’s the Yorkshire cup competition to come and then we really are going to celebrate all that they’ve achieved this year – big style. Anyone out there want to sponsor a fantastic Rugby League Team for next season please let me know……

Well Done Crigglestone All Blacks U12’s Rugby League team

Unbeaten Champions of Division One

Bring it on
